We only make derivative versions of movies from mpeg2 or mpeg1 videos.

What you should do is reupload, preferably in mpeg2, then reimport it - it will take care of it for you. Then submit an error report for the old version, and a curator will remove the old movie.

I would humbly suggest that somewhere during the contribution process (before the upload) there should be a warning to the effect of what you said above. I think there may be people uploading 900 mb .mov files etc., expecting them to converted into the various formats for easy download. I suspect more of them would convert to mpeg-1 or -2 before uploading if they knew they should. And I might have done it right the first time, making less work for you folks! Just a thought.

I re-uploaded as mpeg-2, and the derivatives and thumbnails came out just great. Thanks again.
